DL Jahkeem Stewart (LA)
Just a few days ago, the recruitment of Jahkeem Stewart was considered to be between Ohio State and LSU. Now, however, it looks like that could be shifting towards an Ohio State vs Michigan battle. Stewart has been in contact with the Wolverines, and it sounds like Michigan is preparing a compelling NIL offer for Stewart.
It would not surprise me at all if the Wolverines got Stewart on a visit and were able to land him. This is one where the Bryce Underwood effect is going to be very prevalent. It'll be very interesting to see what happens here, and we should know more within a few days.
OL Ty Haywood (TX)
The buzz around Haywood began early this week, with reports that Michigan was making an NIL push for him. With Bryce Underwood now committed, it seems more likely that the Wolverines will see success in this recruitment. Haywood wants to visit Ann Arbor, and if not for a Saturday playoff game, he'd be at the Northwestern game.
The staff is going to push for Haywood to make a visit during the week, and if they get him on campus, I'd look for a flip. With one five-star offensive lineman already committed in Andrew Babalola, the Wolverines could bolster their protection of Underwood with Haywood's commitment. Of all the previously mentioned prospects, the Wolverines might have their best chance with Haywood.
Conclusion
These next few weeks are going to be fun. Michigan has gone from the hunted to the hunter, and isn't afraid to spend money, as evidenced by their record breaking NIL deal with Bryce Underwood. The four prospects listed here are not at all an exhaustive list, and I'd expect more names to come out in the coming days.
Great players like to play with other great players, and in the 2025 class there is no player greater than Bryce Underwood. His commitment is going to bring other top talent to Ann Arbor, and the Wolverines should have a great shot at finishing with a top five recruiting class. It's an exciting time in Ann Arbor. Go blue!
