What, you thought that quarterback Bryce Underwood was going to be the only exciting true freshman for Michigan football fans to keep a close eye on during camp? Not a chance. On the offensive line, Andrew Babalola is ready to battle for a starting spot.
Underwood is an early favorite to be QB1 and Babalola has his eyes on potentially protecting his blindside. Yup, with fall camp almost here, Babalola is expected to be in a battle for the starting left tackle job with Evan Link and Brady Norton.
During the spring, head man Sherrone Moore said that the expectation was that Babalola would push for that starting role and that the coaching staff was excited to see him get to work. With camp almost here, it's time for the youngster to show what he's made of and he's got the right mindset leading up to things too:

5-star Andrew Babalola is ready to push for Michigan's LT job at fall camp
That quote courtesy of reporter Anthony Broome shows that Babalola has a humble side to him and that he also understands there's a lot of hard work on the way for him. That's a great thing. In high school, he was a superstar and the big man on campus.
Now that he's in Ann Arbor, Babalola is quickly learning that competition is a good thing and that he's going to have to take his game to the next level over the next month or so if he wants to see a ton of playing time once Week 1 gets here - he's got the potential to make that happen.
As a member of the 2025 recruiting class, Babalola, a 6-6, 300-pounder, picked up 35 offers. He took official visits to Oklahoma, Michigan, Stanford, Missouri and Auburn. In the end, he signed with Michigan, doing so ranked five stars and the No. 3 offensive tackle in the country.
Him and Underwood are expected to be playmakers for the years to come, but will their success together start in 2025? We'll find out soon enough, as that question will be answered once we get into the swing of things with fall camp.
