Dominic Zvada hits a 60-yarder
Earlier this week, Dominic Zvada made a 70-yard field goal during practice. Last season, he was 21 of 22 on field-goal attempts. He was also 7 for 7 on attempts of longer than 50 yards.
Zvada was the only kicker in college football to do that. Those numbers would have put him among the elite in the NFL. For this prediction to come true, the circumstances need to line up.
Michigan either needs to the ball near the end of the half, or the chance at a long field goal, like a record-breaking opportunity, needs to come up once the game is in hand.
The current Michigan football record is 59 yards. If Zvada had the chance to kick a 60-yard field goal, you wonder if Sherrone Moore woud give him the chance. He could set the school record, and see how far his distance extends.
You might not want to try a 60-yarder in a Big Ten game later in the season, unless it's the end of the half or the game, but against New Mexico, Moore might let Zvada try.
If he does, the best kicker in college football will deliver.
