Michigan football has a talented roster, but there are still a few spots that could be addressed. Offensive tackle is one of those positions.

Another is running back, along with wide receiver. Running back wasn't a huge concern before Benjamin Hall entered the transfer portal, but now, the Wolverines don't have much experience behind Jordan Marshall and Justice Young.

Offensive tackle was always going to be a priority. Brady Horton was added during the winter transfer portal window, and has been pushing for a starting job, but another player with starting experience would be huge.

Michigan football is in the mix for a few transfer portal targets. Here's a rundown of the four on the radar so far this spring.

Joe Cotton, South Dakota

Joe Cotton is the top-ranked offensive tackle available in the transfer portal right now and there is mutual interest between the 6-foot-7, 315-pounder and the Wolverines.

However, a ton of other programs are in the mix. Wisconsin is expected to get a visit according to Steve Wiltfong of On3.com. Yet, he also reports that Michigan has checked out Cotton's transcripts and that the Wolverines could become a factor.

CJ Hester, Massachusetts

After Hall entered the portal, it makes perfect sense for Michigan football to look for a third back. Sherrone Moore knows you need two in the Big Ten, basically at all times.

And after Marshall and Haynes, there is hardly a carry on the roster. CJ Hester, who played at Massachusetts last season, would make a ton of sense. He's probably not going to take many carries away from the top two, but if there is an injury, he's capable of filling in.

After playing a season for Western Michigan, he transferred and rushed for 529 yards on 119 attempts. He has avreaged 4.4 yards for his career but also had 15 carries for 74 yards last season against Georgia, giving a glimpse into the upside of Hester.

He's visiting Michigan football according to Matt Zentiz of CBS Sports and it wouldn't be surprising to see the Wolverines close out a commitment to add some running back depth.

Tyler McMillan, Southeast Missouri State

According to report from EJ Holland of The Wolverine, a new offensive tackle has emerged in the spring transfer portal for Michigan football and that's 6-foot-6, Tyler McMillan from SE Missouri State.

McMillan was an All-Conference selection in the Ohio Valley and has 20 career starts under his belt. Pass protection is also his strong suit.

You wonder if the interest in McMillan means that Michigan isn't gaining much traction with Cotton, which would be disappointing, although Cotton is going to cost a pretty penny (NIL).

Teon Parks, Illinois State

Michigan football is also showing interest in Illinois State cornerback Teon Parks, according to Holland. Parks is 6-foot-1, 170 pounds and ranked as the No. 58 cornerback available during the 2025 transfer portal.

Michigan could use more cornerback depth. That's a position like defensive tackle or pass rusher, you can never have enough.

Parks has two seasons left to play and is from Detroit (King). Parks was a two-year starter, and in 2024, he notched 31 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble, and 11 pass breakups.

Parks will visit Colorado, according to 247 Sports, so this won't be an easy recruitment to win, but another ballhawk in the secondary would be fine by me.
