4 observations from Michigan's dominant season-opening win

It was just Oakland but Michigan basketball looked like a national title contender in the season opener.

Michigan will push

Dusty May wants to play fast. That's one reason the Wolverines went out and got Elliiot Cadeau. He's a true point guard. He did make a triple last night, but the way he saw the court really opened things up.

Cadeau doesn't need to dominate the ball either. He was a highly-touted recruit for a reason, and came to Michigan after playing extensively for North Carolina.

Mara and Johnson were Big Ten transfers. Only Yaxel was technically an up transfer, and he might have been selected at the end of the first round, but at least in the second, had he stayed in the NBA draft.

These were all high-level players and they fit together perfectly. Cadeau might be the most underrated addition but his ability to push the pace, and find the open man down the floor, triggering the fast break, was a huge reason why the Wolverines scored 121 points. The dude had 12 assists.

It was fun to watch.
