It's Senior Bowl week and that means that the focus will start to shift to the NFL draft. For Michigan football, that's going to be a great weekend.
College football recruits want three things: to get paid, to win, and to have a shot at making the NFL. Michigan football has proven it can do all of those things.
Even last season, during a down year with some major issues at quarterback, the Wolverines managed to go 8-5 against a brutal schedule and still defeated the No. 2 team, and the No. 11 team on the road (Ohio State) and on a neutral field (Alabama).
Michigan football will shine on draft night again
Michigan is also going to kill it in the NFL draft once again. CBS Sports released a new projection for the first round of the 2025 NFL draft and four Wolverines are among the top 32.
Will Johnson, the legendary cornerback who returned two interceptions for touchdowns this season, was projected to come off the board at No. 5 overall to Jacksonville. Mason Graham, who should be a top-five pick, was projected No. 8 to the Panthers.
Colston Loveland was projected to go 22nd overall to the LA Chargers -- Jim Harbaugh's old team. That would be a match made it heaven and Kenneth Grant, another junior like all the others, was projected by CBS Sports as the 30th overall pick.
Josaiah Stewart is another that could have a chance to be selected in the first round. The pass rusher is having a stellar week at the Senior Bowl. So is former Michigan football running back Donovan Edwards.
Edwards has flashed as a receiver all week and in the NFL, where things are based more on matchups, Edwards will be a weapon. That's at least six draft picks for the Wolverines and that's not all of them either.
