The Big Ten recently released its 2025 football schedules, giving us a chance to think more about the possibilities of the 2025 football season. Michigan football, after going 7-5 in 2024, will look to return to the playoffs in 2025. But will the Wolverines be able to make such a drastic turnaround? The schedule can either help or hurt, so let's dive into three thoughts on the 2025 schedule.
1. Wolverines will have to be Road Warriors
As Michigan football fans, we're used to having 7-8 home games per year. It's what happens when you're one of the biggest brands in the nation. In 2025, Michigan football will only have six home games. To make things more interesting, the Wolverines aren't going to have any consecutive home games. Michigan will be traveling a lot, and won't have much time to get comfortable in 2025.
While the matchups themselves aren't too daunting, as none of the teams Michigan will play on the road are ranked to end the 2024 season, going on the road is always a challenge. Especially in hostile environments like Oklahoma or Nebraska, and especially across the country at USC. Michigan will have to be very well prepared if it wants to escape those games unscathed.
It'll definitely be interesting to see how the Wolverines fare on the road in 2025. Those games could be the difference between making the playoffs and missing them.
