Maryland came out swinging for the fences and grabbed the early lead on fourth and goal. Minutes later, they tried to catch Michigan football napping, but Chase Taylor recovered the failed onside kick attempt. Chip Lindsey's offense proceeded to rattle off 45 points for the commanding victory before a heavy Michigan crowd that was chanting for them to Beat Ohio State again. Here are three of the takeaways from the calming win in College Park.
1. Andrew Marsh is becoming as revered as Bryce Underwood is
Marsh returned punts, kicks and caught a game-high five passes in an ironman type of effort for the freshman. He and Bryce Underwood are excelling at the right time without the offense's top two backs. The duo connected on some precise throws that Underwood delivered to Marsh and other weapons at his disposal. As ridiculous as it may sound, Marsh is currently outplaying the standard barrier, Jeremiah Smith and his teammate Carnell Tate.
2. Bryson Kuzdal made himself attractive to other schools who could poach him away from Michigan
We don't know what will happen in the offseason with Justice Haynes yet, but with Jordan Marshall and Savion Hiter in the fold for next year, Kuzdal could have been showcasing his skills for a potential transfer battle for his services. He did not dissapoint, even with the heartfelt injury to their team leader. Jalen Hoffman will have some imposing shoes to fill with Max Bredeson's Michigan career in serious jeopardy.
Michigan has rushed for 200-plus yards in four-straight games for the first time since 2022 (Penn State, 418; Michigan State, 276; Rutgers, 282; Nebraska, 264). pic.twitter.com/bxulJvwtQ8

3. Michigan has exceeded its win totals from 2024
Nine wins, seven in the Big Ten and they are in the midst of a five game winning streak, that they did not accomplish last year. That alone screams improvement besides the last two weeks of undesirable wins and the USC, Oklahoma scrambles to adjust too. Sherrone Moore has his program right on pace to where they should be in his second act, just like his mentor Jim Harbaugh did before him.
