Discussion about Aday Mara declaring for the draft continues to intensify. Malick Kordel is transferring, and Marcus Moller took a hiatus from basketball to focus on his battle with cancer.
It leaves a seven-foot opening for someone to improve their game under a national championship-winning head coach. Here are three names that May and Michigan basketball could pique their interest.
Moustapha Thiam-Cincinnati
Out of the three listed here, Thiam is the most ready to play now. He's averaged double digits in two years at Cincinnati and had his way with Kansas in the February win there. If Dusty May can get his hands on a player like this to plug in for Mara, then watch out. There's no secret why schools like St. John's, Duke, and Kentucky are going after him. By watching his tape, his shot may be a little awkward, but it's clear why he was Central Florida's highest recruit ever. However, the price for his talents may be too much for Michigan's liking.
Andrew McKeever-St. Mary's
Interest has already been expressed for McKeever, who can easily follow his coach to Arizona State. Like Mara at UCLA, McKeever came off the bench for most of the season. When he did play for more than 30 minutes in every game this past season, he scored in double figures every single time. Against San Francisco he posted 18 rebounds, which is more than Mara had in any one game as a breakout junior. One thing that stands out about McKeever, is that he has not attempted a three-pointer ever at St. Mary's. That would certainly change with Dusty May coaching him.
Here are several players that #Michigan is reportedly pursuing or showing interest in from the transfer portal.

Eric Reibe-UConn
As a four-star prospect from Germany, the left-hander has lottery pick potential written all over him if he can be developed by the right coach. He can really stroke it from the outside and has the moves to have a better post game than Mara over time. He flashed a mere taste of what he can do in the November loss to Arizona. During his recruitment to college, Reibe was on Michigan's radar, and he's played with Trey McKenney before on the all-star circuit.
