2. It matters to Fox if Michigan fans went to the University or not
Fox did a video before the game talking to tailgating patrons about whether or not they attended the university. Should that matter to you? No, in fact who cares. Fandom is a right. This is an overreaction that is just laughable. Some make it a big deal about whether or not people go to school that they cheer for, but why does it even matter? I didn't go to class at Michigan and was born and bred to be a Michigan fan and I am very proud of that. I would venture to say that most feel the same way that I do.
I can sympathize with the other side of the argument as well. Graduates of their favorite programs should feel pride in saying that they earned a degree for the college that they attended. There are many lifers who are Michigan diehards, who have graduated from there and even more who just love the aura of its sports programs and gravitate towards it. That's what so fun about college football compared to the NFL in my opinion.

I bet if you asked Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson supporters or almost any other power school in America, most of their loyalists are probably folks who went to another school or didn't go to college at all. College football is beloved by so many red-blooded Americans and across the globe. It doesn't judge you in your personal beliefs.
