When the injury report came out for this one, people were scratching their heads, wondering why Ernest Hausmann was unavailable. Semaj Morgan also did not make the trip, but that warranted a sigh of relief to the Michigan football congregation for obvious reasons. Turns out Michigan didn't need either of them and glided to a stress-free win that was sorely welcomed. Here are three of the most amusing overreactions from Michigan's muting of Maryland.
1. Rumors of Ernest Hausmann leaving the team spread
Hausmann quickly dispelled those voices who said he quit on his teammates because he didn't play Saturday. That makes this an overreaction that was perplexing once it came out. Hausmann took to his social media accounts to remind the masses that he isn't going anywhere and what time of the year it is on the calendar. Unfortunately, we may never know the real reason why Michigan's leading tackler didn't make the trip to start in College Park.
2. Maryland's onside kick was too risky
When you're 4-6 and have nothing to lose, you might as well pull out all the stops and try to steal a possession from Michigan. That makes this an overreaction that was worth it even though they didn't recover it. Mike Locksley was trying to grab all the momentum after going up 7-0 on an impressive opening scoring drive and they must have had it planned ahead of time. However it backfired and Chase Taylor was ready for the surprise that no one saw coming.
Today’s SECU Stadium crowd for Maryland vs Michigan at the end of the first quarter. Third ‘sellout’ of the season (capacity 46,185), but to my untrained eye, the most people that have been here so far this season. pic.twitter.com/pyVksJ9aue

3. The game was a complete sellout
The announcers commented that SECU stadium was sold out, but it certainly appeared to the untrained eye that there were empty spaces throughout the stadium. Therefore, this is an overreaction. In the picture above, there are plenty of unclaimed seats in the early moments of Saturday's clash. One thing is for sure: there won't be any unfilled seats in the Big House with the national champions invading.
