The watch lists for preseason awards will be arriving imminently, and three Michigan Wolverines should be in the driver's seat for the recognized acknowledgments. They will be three of the most coveted players in college, and by the time the NFL calls their names, they'll be mentioned as all-time Michigan legends. These are the trio of Wolverines who will be the favorites at their respective positions to hoist the desired awards.
Dominic Zvada: The Lou Groza Award
There will be a brand new winner in 2025 with Kenneth Almendares off to the NFL. Zvada is primed to break some records in his second stint in Ann Arbor. He already owns the best field goal percentage for a single season and will probably get a lot of attempts because of Michigan's inept offense at times. He would be as highly-touted as a skill position player if he wasn't a kicker.
Bryce Underwood: The Thompson-Randle El Big Ten Freshman of the Year
This will be the first of many forecasted awards for the prized flamethrower. There is no Jeremiah Smith type of talent to compete with this go around, so that will make it a little less stressful for Underwood to handle. Dakorien Moore, a wide receiver for Oregon, may turn out to be Underwood's stiffest competition. There will also be a name or two that no one sees coming like Iose Epenesa from Iowa or Malik Washington from Maryland.
Max Bredeson: The Lowman Trophy
Okay this one is not serious since it comes from Barstool sports and will get laughed at immensely, but let's treat it like it matters for a minute. Bredeson would be the perfect recipient for this award if it actually was officially recognized, because he is the top fullback in the country. Fullbacks deserve some credit for the thankless work they do to. He is one of the main reasons why Michigan's running backs get in the endzone so routinely.
