3 commitments that would make Michigan's 2026 class perfect

Michigan football has been on a roll in the 2026 class but here are three potential additions who would make the class nearly perfect.

Davon Benjamin, DB

Davon Benjamin, a 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back out of California, is ranked 35th overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Michigan football hosted him for an official visit on May 30th. He seemed to be trending away, and received a crystal ball projection to Oregon.

However, the Wolverines have started to gain momentum recently. According to EJ Holland of The Wolverine, "optimism is growing" in Ann Arbor about the prospect of landing the elite defensive back who could be a cornerback or safety.

On3 ranks him as the best cornerback in the class. 247 Sports has him listed as a safety. Either way, Benjamin is an elite talent. He reminds me of Daxton Hill. He's an elite man-to-man corner, who played mostly safety in high school, because he's elite in the deep middle, too.

Michigan is playing the NIL game as well as anyone right now, which includes Oregon. This seemed like a long shot a few weeks ago, now it feels like the Wolverines could realistically land Russell, Hiter, and Benjamin, all top-50 recruits, before the end of the summer.
