Excitement is growing as the 2025 NFL Draft has arrived. Michigan's powerhouse program can make history on Thursday night, but what about for the outcome of the three-day affair in total? These are three bold predictions involving the Wolverines that could throw a wrench into things with some twists that we all least expect.

1. Colston Loveland will be the first tight end off the board

For months we have been hearing how Tyler Warren was a lock to go ahead of Loveland in the top 10, but lately rumors have started swirling that Loveland will go higher then people expect. Some draft analysts have Loveland in their top 10 of players overall, along with Warren, so perhaps a team like the Jaguars or Jets could send shockwaves throughout the process by taking him over the John Mackey award winner.

History shows that more Wolverine tight ends have been drafted, but Penn State's Kyle Brady was the last first rounder between the two schools. Paul Seymour was the last to wear the winged helmet that got selected in the opening round over 50 years ago.

2. Josiah Stewart will sneak into the second round

With needy teams like Detroit, Los Angeles and Baltimore always searching for talent in the trenches, Stewart will have suitors for his services. It wouldn't be a surprise if Jim Harbaugh took multiple Wolverines in this draft, especially starting on Thursday night. He needs a defensive end after the release of Joey Bosa. The Super bowl champions have also met with Stewart and own a late second rounder and everyone is aware how much Howie Roseman covets defensive lineman.

3. Donovan Edwards will be drafted before Kalel Mullings

If you look at any of the rankings, you can see that Mullings is ranked higher than Edwards on almost every draft site. Remember that Edwards was a borderline five-star prospect coming out of high school, though. Edwards has had the better offseason workout regimen, even coming off the injury he sustained in the Ohio State upset. The Commanders met up with Edwards and have one of the final picks on Saturday's festivities if they are inclined.
