Finding Rhythm In the Passing Game

It was very obvious that the passing game was struggling against Michigan State, as Bryce Underwood was only 8 of 17 for 88 yards and no touchdowns in the game. There were a lot of times when he wasn't reading blitzes, and he would either end up getting sacked or having to scramble to make a play.

For the first time, it looked like Underwood was uncomfortable in the pocket, and his awareness was not as good as in previous games. Not all of this can go on Underwood, though, because the play-calling has not been helping our freshman quarterback.

There were a lot of looks where there was only one wide receiver in the formation, and on most occasions, they were not open on the play. The play-calling has been a constant issue, and it is not helping the passing game get going in games where it should be.

This should be a great bounce-back game for the passing attack and Bryce Underwood, as Purdue is a much less inferior defense than Michigan State.

The Wolverines look to keep the momentum going in this game as the mentality is still to win out and make the playoffs.
