Michigan football got some good news on Tuesday on the Will Johnson injury front as the star cornerback was back at practice.

If there was one negative to come out of the win for Michigan football over Ohio State, it was the injury to Will Johnson which sidelined the star cornerback for most of the second half.

Yet, before Johnson suffered a leg injury and left the game, he made his impact felt, intercepting Kyle McCord on a pass to Marvin Harrison Jr. in the first quarter.

Johnson, who wasn’t exactly healthy going into the game, did have some struggles against Harrison Jr., but the dude is the best receiver in college football.

At any rate, Johnson, who was Michigan football’s only consensus First-Team All-Big Ten defensive selection, is questionable for the Big Ten championship game on Saturday.

That’s not an official designation. He just seems questionable that he will play, although according to Aaron McMann of MLive, Johnson is “feeling a lot better” and practiced on Tuesday.

Will Michigan football have Will Johnson against Iowa?

Johnson tweaked his leg injury against the Buckeyes and while it doesn’t sound super serious, the injury could force Johnson to miss the game against Iowa.

Obviously, you don’t want to rush Johnson back. You also can’t take anything for granted on Saturday. Iowa is a top-20 team that won 10 games for a reason. It has an elite defense, plus the Hawkeyes have been getting better in the passing game with Deacon Hill.

So it would be nice to have Johnson back in the lineup. He’s got three interceptions on the season including one that was returned for a touchdown against Minnesota. He also has four pass breakups.
