A few Michigan football players and coaches became legends on Saturday and Jim Harbaugh called them out by name on Monday.

Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh had to watch “The Game” from home on Saturday due to the three-game suspension issued by the Big Ten Conference.

However, that “punishment” didn’t prove to be much of a punishment, as the Wolverines won all three games thanks to the incredible coaching of Sherrone Moore.

First, Moore ran 32 consecutive times against Penn State — simply doing what needed to be done to win. On Saturday, in “The Game” he was aggressive and out-coached Ryan Day.

Three times, Michigan football went for and converted on fourth down. Alex Orji provided a 20-yard run early in the third quarter, while the half-back pass by Donovan Edwards helped provide three critical points.

Michigan football didn’t punt in the second half against Ohio State, scoring on all four possessions. That was the key to the game and Moore’s efforts as the head coach won’t soon be forgotten, including by Harbaugh, who nominated him as a “Michigan legend” on Monday.

Harbaugh shouts out other “Michigan legends”

Harbaugh also nominated Will Johnson as a Michigan football legend for his interception against the Buckeyes, which set the tone. It allowed Michigan to grab a lead it would never relinquish and frankly, the play reminded me again of Charles Woodson.

Mike Sainristil is already a Michigan legend, according to Harbaugh, but he also nominated Rod Moore for his game-sealing interception, which Harbaugh called, “One of the happiest moments of my life.”

Same Jim. Same.

Whether it’s Will Johnson, Rod Moore, Sherrone Moore, Blake Corum, J.J. McCarthy, Colston Loveland, Donovan Edwards, Trevor Keegan, Roman Wilson, Karsen Barnhart, Trente Jones, or Quinten Johnson — Michigan football has a lot of new legends after Saturday.

James Turner is another. Really, the list goes on and on — Kris Jenkins, Mason Graham, Kenneth Grant, A.J. Barner, LaDarius Henderson, Zak Zinter (of course), Makari Paige, and many others.
