Michigan Football: 3 overreactions from the OSU win
By Nick Popio
3. Ohio State should demand a rematch
As much as this makes sense because they are clearly head and shoulders the two best teams in the Big Ten, the rules are not made that way.
Some Buckeye fans are sobbing and trying to convince themselves that they deserve a rematch instead of Iowa. That makes this an overreaction to the highest extent and very laughable.
Iowa earned their right to play in the Big Ten championship game, while Ohio State had their shot and blew it again. Next year will be different with the west coast additions so we could potentially see a second showdown with the Buckeyes in Indy, but we won’t know how that will be set up for a while.
Winning this one, with everything on the line, won’t mean the same anymore because of what is happening in the conference next season.
That’s a shame, but it’s all about the money over anything. As for Ohio State, they will play in a New Year’s Six bowl, while the wild rumors of their head coach continue to circulate.
