The Game is Finally Here

Michigan football and Ohio State are 11-0 heading into The Game for the second straight year and the third time ever. This year is possibly the highest-stakes edition of The Game ever. On Michigan’s side, you have a season with a cloud over it. Everyone is calling the Wolverines cheaters and discrediting what they’ve done the past two seasons.

Jim Harbaugh’s name is being thrown in the dirt, and it appears the NCAA is out to get Harbaugh. Coincidentally, these issues surfaced after Harbaugh called for revenue sharing with players. Funny how that works.

With Harbaugh not on the sidelines, Michigan football has a chance to silence the doubters. With a statement win over the Buckeyes, where there can be zero mention of a competitive advantage, Michigan can partially clear its name.

On the Ohio State side, Ryan Day needs to prove that he can win high-level games. He needs to prove that he’s not soft and that he has what it takes to elevate Ohio State to the level that Urban Meyer was on.

Despite recruiting far better than Meyer, Day has performed far worse than his predecessor. Another Michigan win, especially with an interim head coach, could send day out of Columbus. Or at least make his seat burning hot.

Without further ado, let’s look at the matchup. I’ve analyzed both the offenses and the defenses of Michigan and Ohio State, but let’s see what I think is going to happen, starting with the Ohio State offense versus the Michigan defense.
