J.J. McCarthy delivers

McCarthy didn’t have his best game last week, but I don’t see J.J. playing below his standards two weeks in a row, especially if he’s healthier than he was last week.

We don’t really know if that’s the case. He said he’s feeling close to 100 percent, but we’ll see because he needs to be a factor in the running game, as well as the passing game.

One thing we know about McCarthy is that he has that DAWG in him. Jim Harbaugh calls that a disciplined athlete with grit. That’s McCarthy to a T.

Kyle McCord performed well late against Notre Dame. He also threw a key touchdown pass late against Penn State, so both have shown they can perform under pressure.

But I see McCarthy playing at a higher level. It’s probably going to be his final start at Michigan Stadium and I have a hard time seeing him lose.

Michigan has only lost three games total since McCarthy joined the team in 2021. The Wolverines haven’t dropped a single home game and McCarthy will do his part to keep it that way on Saturday.
