J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy hasn’t been as productive the past two weeks. He really struggled with some poor decisions and missed throws against Maryland.

J.J. impacted the game against Penn State with his legs and he needs to do that on Saturday too. I’ve said this time and time again, but McCarthy is Michigan’s advantage in this game and his play needs to reflect that.

The Wolverines need to protect him, but this is maybe the best Michigan football quarterback ever. Jim Harbaugh hasn’t been using hyperbole when he talks about McCarthy that way.

McCarthy is 22-1 over the past two seasons. He’s been part of two Big Ten championship teams and two wins over Ohio State. You can bet he’s going to do everything he can to make it three for three.

Regardless of what happens, this is probably going to be McCarthy’s final game in Michigan Stadium. So let’s be thankful for all the great moments he’s given us and hopefully, he gives us a few more on Saturday in “The Game.”
