2. The defense is leaking

Taulia Tagovailoa was the best quarterback that Michigan has faced all season long. He exposed Michigan’s pass defense a bit on Saturday. Kyle McCord is not as good, but he has elite receivers and a running game that can break Michigan’s defense. This is an overreaction that will be settled next Saturday.

Michigan’s defense made the plays when they had to and didn’t let Maryland get the win. The defensive line got the sacks on the final drives to force punts and their pressure caused the safety that gave them the football back for good.

The secondary was burned on some plays, but that should be expected when Ohio State comes to town. It’s practically impossible to slow down Marvin Harrison Jr. and company.

If Jesse Minter can make Ohio State one-dimensional, then Ryan Day will panic and lose control. Adjustments will be crucial next week.

That’s where not having Jim Harbaugh on the sidelines could cost them the win. Sherrone Moore and the rest of his staff have to be prepared for any situation that arises.
