3. Immortality awaits next weekend

The “game” is here. Two unbeaten for the second consecutive year will collide for an East trophy and the de facto Big Ten championship, with no disrespect to Iowa. A spot in the college football playoff and perhaps a shot at Georgia is on the line as well. This time the Buckeyes are the undeniable underdog and Michigan is the villain.

Ohio State has the better resume with timely wins at Notre Dame and Penn State. However Michigan’s win at Penn State supersedes that. Both defenses are playing to lay claim to being the best in the country. This will be each school’s most challenging test to date, as it should be every year. Michigan has not seen a player like Marvin Harrison Jr. and Ohio State has not lost three in a row since the nineties.

All the hype leading up to kickoff will be unbearable. As Tom Petty famously said “the waiting is the hardest part.” Although winning this war is worth it every single time out. Prices are astronomically high, but for good reason. With or without Jim Harbaugh, Sherrone Moore and team 144 can further cement their legacy by overcoming the odds and bringing a championship home to Ann Arbor. The postseason begins on November 25th.
