2. 1,000 milestone wins

From Fielding Yost to Bennie Oosterbaan to Bo Schembechler to Jim Harbaugh, Michigan football is the all-time winningest program with 1,000 wins. Dating all the way back to 1879 when they won their first football game on Saturday in Maryland, no one can compare to the standards set by Michigan football.

Bo had the most wins, followed by Yost who had the longest tenure of the bunch. William Ward had the highest winning percentage, while Yost won the most national championships.

Frank Crawford and Mike Murphy were dubbed with the honor of being the first head coaches in the history of the rich program. 10 coaches have made the Hall of Fame and some day that will be 11 when Jim Harbaugh decides to leave his alma mater.

National champions, Rose Bowl victories, wins over Ohio State, Michigan State and the list goes on and on.

This moment will be remembered in Michigan football history for being one of the Big Ten’s most dominant runs. The only thing missing to cap this monumental feat would be to go 15-0 and win the whole shebang in January.
