Maryland will get stuffed

Last season, Michigan football actually had some trouble stopping Roman Hemby. His final numbers weren’t that great and he got just 48 yards on 16 carries, but Maryland had 132 yards total which helped them hang around in a 34-27 defeat.

People kind of forget this, but outside of the Illinois game last season, Maryland was the only team to play Michigan football within a score and that’s with Blake Corum healthy.

In my opinion, if Maryland is going to have a shot to win on Saturday, it has to have some sort of balance. Playing quarterback in second and third and long is never easy, but it’s particularly difficult against Michigan football.

Jesse Minter is one of the best defensive coordinators in the country and when the defense wins on run downs, it allows him to dig into his bag of tricks. This pass rush is also too good.

It will eat Maryland alive if the Terps aren’t able to run the ball and after last week, I don’t see the 10th-ranked rushing team getting over 100. Michigan will make a point and force Maryland to be one-dimensional.
