Defense: A

It was clear from the first possession of the game that Penn State wasn’t going to be able to throw the ball. Drew Allar might be good someday, but not now.

The best thing Allar did was throw the football away. I actually thought he should have been called for grounding a couple of more times than just once. Allar averaged just 3.1 yards per pass attempt which is even worse than most quarterbacks have done.

Allar was 10-of-22 on the day. He did run the ball well and I was surprised that Penn State was able to rush for 164 yards in the game. That needs to be shored up.

But Michigan did a great job of limiting explosive plays. This defense proved once again, it’s championship caliber which is why it gets an A. Under 100 yards rushing and it would have been an A+.
