3. Penn State is offense-less

In Penn State’s biggest two meetings of the year, their offense drowned. Two touchdowns a game are not going to cut it against two national title contenders. Drew Allar was under 50% in both losses. He and James Franklin are the continuing problems for a program that can’t win the big one anymore.

Ohio State held the Nittany Lions to 240 yards, while Michigan’s defense surrendered just 238. Perhaps changing coordinators is another option, but Franklin and Allar are running out of time and patience in Happy Valley. A consolation prize of a New Year’s Six bowl is enticing, but it’s not the goal.

As for Michigan football, they will rally to get Jim Harbaugh back as soon as possible. He served his suspensions and Michigan is still intact.
