These are three of the most absurd overreactions from Michigan’s valiant conquering of Penn State in Pennsylvania.

Michigan football finally played somebody worth noting on Saturday and didn’t disappoint. They overcame the critics and proved that they were worthy of being number one. We won’t know where they will rank until Tuesday night, but it doesn’t matter as long as they continue to take care of their own business.

Here are three of the takeaways.

1. Sherrone Moore’s postgame gaffe was not justified

Talk about a monumental moment in Michigan football history. Moore is getting hammered by the media and praised by the Michigan faithful. I can see why people can argue both sides of the sword on this. I’m biased so I will say that this was not an overreaction and like Moore said in his post-game presser, when he met with the media, he wore his heart on his sleeve and couldn’t hold back.

The guy is over-emotional for sure, but it goes to show you how badly he wanted it and so did the program. Moore is the best play-caller Michigan football has had in recent memory. He will for certain be a head coach in 2024, but will it be at Michigan or somewhere else? If I were Warde Manuel I would do whatever it takes to keep him in the maize and blue, but that’s doubtful.

Luckily Michigan has been through this before by being without the aura of Jim Harbaugh. Moore did a solid job against UNLV earlier this season and was ready for the moment. However, this was Michigan’s most difficult opponent to date and his players and fellow coaches had his back. Because of that, Michigan is celebrating the fruits of their labor.
