Donovan Edwards is an X-factor

It’s been a struggle for Donovan Edwards this season. At least in terms of running the ball. He was able to get things going last season against Penn State and maybe that will happen again.

However, where I really see Edwards impacting this game is as a receiver. Roman Wilson is going to be a focal point for the Penn State defense. There are only so many defenders though and you have to single up somebody.

Whether it’s the tight ends or Edwards, McCarthy is going to find those matchups. We saw Edwards catch a bomb last week that got the Wolverines to the one-yard line. I wouldn’t be shocked at all to see him catch a couple of passes like that.

I have to believe the staff has a few wrinkles on offense reserved for the Nittany Lions. McCarthy running the ball more makes sense — so does throwing to Edwards, often.
