It’s going to be a war

If Michigan football fans think this game is going to resemble the one from last season, I think they will wind up disappointed because I expect a battle on Saturday.

This game feels like the 2021 matchup to me. The Nittany Lions have a stout defense and are second in the Big Ten in scoring offense, as well as third in scoring defense.

They average 40 a game and surrender 11. Michigan football scores 40 per game and allows 6.7. Both teams are ranked in the top three in the Big Ten in rushing yards, but both teams have been disappointing in that area.

Penn State allows just two yards per rushing attempt, which leads the Big Ten. Michigan football allows three yards per attempt.

Honestly, I can see this game playing out sort of like the Ohio State — Penn State game. I see it being a one-score game when all is said and done, but if things play out sort of like, in Columbus, Michigan football will have one big advantage: the quarterback.
