What if Michigan isn’t successful?

If Michigan struggles to finish the season, things could take a turn for the worse within the program.

For one, confidence within the program would be low. With many players leaving for the draft, we could see Harbaugh entertain NFL offers and yet again hinder recruiting. Recruiting would likely not improve, and could even deteriorate a bit.

With the brutal schedule in 2024 and beyond, Michigan could fall to the middle of the pack. It’s only going to become harder and harder to compete within the Big Ten, and Michigan could struggle to compete without an uptick in recruiting.

All in all, 2023 is a very important season when it comes to the future of this program. If things go great, Michigan should be able to remain in the upper echelon of college football for years to come. If things go south, well, we could see this program take a turn for the worse.
