Stick with the bread and butter

I love the way that Michigan football has managed Blake Corum this season. The Wolverines overused him last season and clearly learned that lesson.

You don’t need Corum for the Minnesota game. You need him for Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, and hopefully, more big games beyond that.

Indiana is allowing 4.7 yards per game. The pass defense isn’t great either and I’m sure J.J. McCarthy will get some chances — even in the rain — but his throwing about 20 times per game has been perfect.

Corum will probably see more than nine carries against Indiana. Then again, with Kalel Mullings earning more carries and Donovan Edwards still in the mix, they don’t need to overwork Blake.

But the staff should put the game in the hands of the offensive line and the running backs and give Indiana a dose of the boa-constrictor death Joel Klatt recently described.
