What impact will the new OC have on Indiana?
Things have been bad for Indiana offensively and Tom Allen really needs to get a bowl game or he could be out of a job.
Following the loss to Maryland, Walt Bell was relieved of his play-calling duties. Allen has named former Northern Illinois and Temple head coach Rod Carey as the offensive coordinator.
It was a smart move in terms of timing because it allowed the team time to adjust and Carey to work on things during the bye week.
Will it have a huge impact? Maybe down the road it could, but I don’t know about this week. Michigan football has allowed three touchdowns in Big Ten play. They were all on long touchdowns, which needs to be cleaned up.
So there are chances to make big plays, but few teams have sustained scoring drives against Michigan and I don’t know if Carey will make a gigantic difference this week.
