Michigan football recruiting has taken a back seat to the 2023 season but here are some updates for the Wolverines in the 2024 and 2025 classes.

Jim Harbaugh can’t stop smiling when talking about current Michigan football quarterback J.J. McCarthy and it’s hard to blame him with the way McCarthy is playing.

The Wolverines also have a stellar quarterback committed in the 2024 class. I don’t care that Jadyn Davis has seen his ranking drop a little, he’s still ranked as a top-100 quarterback and has been balling out this fall.

Davis feels like one of the most college-ready prospects in the 2024 class. But in the 2025 class, Michigan football has a few good options starting with five-star Bryce Underwood.

Underwood is the top-ranked player in the entire 2025 class and is from Belleville. The Wolverines are a top contender from Underwood, but another quarterback on their radar, George MacIntyre, who is ranked as the No. 2 quarterback in the 2025 class via the 247 Sports composite rankings, included Michigan football in his top 10 on Monday.

Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, Auburn, Florida State, and Oregon are among the other programs involved. MacIntyre has visited Michigan a couple of times previously but Alabama is the leader via the On3 prediction machine.

As good as MacIntyre is, Underwood is the guy for the Wolverines until he tells them no. But they also haven’t put all their eggs in his basket either.

2024 defensive tackle to visit Michigan football

The Wolverines are still looking for a nose tackle in the 2024 class and Michai Boireau would fit the mold. He also recently decommitted from Florida.

The 6-foot-5, 390-pounder who is ranked as a three-star prospect (703 overall) via the 247 Sports composite rankings, is going to take an official visit to Michigan according to EJ Holland.

Once Boireau re-opened his recruitment, Georgia became the favorite and got a crystal ball from Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports. UGA has already hosted him for a visit.

However, if the Wolverines can knock it out of the park during his official visit, they could have a shot at landing the Hampton, Georgia, prospect, although the in-state Bulldogs appear to be the team to beat.
