Following an impressive win for Michigan football over Minnesota, we hand out our grades and game balls for the Wolverines.

Michigan football turned some heads in the college football world with another dominating performance in the 52-10 win over Minnesota.

Beating Nebraska by 38 points on the road was impressive. But when I looked at the schedule, it seemed like Minnesota would be the tougher game. It was at night and the Gophers have won nine games in three of the last four seasons — they aren’t rebuilding.

But Michigan football dismantled Minnesota. It started on the opening play with Will Johnson’s interception and never stopped. Here are our grades and game balls for Minnesota.

Game balls: J.J. McCarthy, Will Johnson, and Mason Graham

Will Johnson set the tone with his pick-six to open the game. He also had a stop for loss in the game and continues to look like Charles Woodson more and more.

J.J. McCarthy was impeccable. He completed 14-of-20 passes and threw for 219 yards and a touchdown, as well as running for two more.

It’s almost a surprise when the ball hits the ground. He leads college football in QBR and last week was his fifth game with a QBR over 90.

Lastly, Mason Graham was a beast. Playing with a club on his hand, Graham had six tackles, a sack, and 1.5 tackles for loss. It was a dominating performance but it was what we have come to expect from Graham, who like Johnson, looks like a future first-round pick.
