Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson makes a catch for a touchdown against East Carolina defensive backs TyMir Brown (24) and Julius Wood during the second half of U-M’s 30-3 win on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2023, at Michigan Stadium. /

Wide receiver: B

To wrap things up, I’m giving the wide receivers a B. Roman Wilson has been a huge bright spot and has solidified himself as WR1, but there hasn’t been much action besides that. Cornelius Johnson has been relatively underwhelming and has struggled to create separation at times, and the Wolverines don’t have a definitive third receiver.

They’ve rotated between Tyler Morris, Semaj Morgan, and Frederick Moore. Tyler Morris has looked the best out of the three, but all three have had their moments.

I’d like to see a lot of improvement between now and the end of the season. I think this group is ahead of where they were at this point last season, but there’s a lot of room for improvement. Roman Wilson is carrying the group right now, and someone else is going to have to step up.

This group has a ton of potential, but they’re going to need to improve over the next couple of weeks. The wide receivers and offensive lineman are the two groups I’m going to watch the closest over the coming weeks.
