3. Consistency, Consistency, Consistency
The holdup for Michigan football has been getting all of the pieces clicking at the same time.
The offensive line has a lot of new players and needs time to develop chemistry. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards are coming off of injuries and need time to get back. J.J. is still settling into the season. The defense is dealing with a handful of injuries. Most of all, this team hasn’t had their head coach on the sidelines yet.
You can look at the scores of the non-conference games and be disappointed that the results aren’t as lopsided as last year, but we haven’t seen this team even close to hitting their peak yet. Michigan isn’t built to put up 70 points on Bowling Green, they’re built to beat Ohio State.
At the end of the day, this is a dangerous team that can and should beat anyone on their schedule if they can start hitting their potential. I know that week 4 has been a trouble spot for Michigan the past two years but look for a statement game against Rutgers this weekend with Harbaugh back.
