While Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh is in the middle of serving his three-game suspension, he has continued to find ways to stay busy on Gameday.

Last week, he and his family watched the game with suspended offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore and his, complete with sandwiches from Panera.

This week, with Moore back on the field, Harbaugh looked to a new routine. Harbaugh discussed the routine today at his weekly press conference.

It all started before Michigan football’s 3:30 pm kickoff against UNLV, with Jim’s 10-year-old son Jack having a game of his own. Harbaugh, being the football guy he is, worked as a part of the “chain gang”, manning the down box, which indicates which down it is.

Fittingly, he wore his full gameday outfit of navy pants and Michigan football polo, and hat while on the sidelines.

Following Jack’s game, Harbaugh still had some time before kickoff, so he was able to do one of his other favorite activities: mow the lawn.

By the time the game started, he was able to knock out his entire front yard. From there, his father and son, Jack and Jay, coach the Michigan Wolverines to a smooth victory over UNLV. At halftime, instead of addressing his team’s needs, he addressed the needs of his children and took them to McDonald’s. Then, after all was said and done, Harbaugh mowed his backyard and called it a day.

Harbaugh was very complimentary of the Wolverine’s passing offense, calling quarterback J.J. McCarthy “on fire” against UNLV.

The junior quarterback completed 22 of 25 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns and gained an additional 38 yards on the ground. The run game, however, could use some work, stating the inefficient plays outnumbered the efficient ones. He is excited to work on improving going forward though, and we’ll see if that can improve in week three against Bowling Green.
