Michigan’s front seven dominates

It’s hard to prepare for how good Michigan football is in the trenches. Kris Jenkins is one of the elite defensive linemen in college football, plus Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant are poised for breakout seasons as sophomores. Derrick Moore too.

The Wolveines could have the best defensive tackle tandem in the Big Ten. The EDGE rushers are talented and Michigan is deep at that position too, plus at linebacker.

East Carolina ran the ball well last season but graduated its top two running backs. Rahjai Harris has over 1,400 yards for his career, while Marlon Gunn and Georgia Southern transfer Gerald Green are other names in the mix.

In terms of what it means for Michigan football’s front seven to dominate. Well, I’d guess that we’ll see five sacks from the Wolverines in the season opener, as well as about 10 tackles for loss and I don’t see East Carolina reaching 100 yards rushing unless they break off a big run or two.
