Tight ends

At tight end, Michigan football has one of the best duos in the country in AJ Barner and Colston Loveland. Loveland had a tremendous finish to his freshman season and looks to be a future All-American for the Wolverines.

What’s crazy is that Michigan has another tight end that could be just as good as Loveland in AJ Barner. Barner, a transfer and former team captain from Indiana, is a better blocker than Loveland and is very athletic. Barner showed out in the Spring game and is going to be a big part of the offense.

I expect Michigan to run lots of two-tight-end sets. Honestly, it’s not unrealistic to say that the leading receiver for Michigan in 2023 could be a tight end.

These guys are just so talented. It’ll be interesting to see how often these two are on the field together in the first couple of weeks. This is another elite position group for the Wolverines offense.
