Offensive line

It’s crazy to say this, but this offensive line might be better than last year. This is likely the deepest offensive line in the country.

As of now, it looks like the starting offensive line is going to be Trente Jones, Zak Zinter, Drake Nugent, Trevor Keegan, and Karsen Barnhart. It’s ridiculous to look at that and see that Myles Hinton, Ladarius Henry, Gio El-Hadi, and many more aren’t in the lineup, but it’s a testament to how good this group is.

Michigan has seven offensive linemen on the Senior Bowl watchlist. SEVEN. You only start five. The Wolverines could legitimately have more offensive linemen drafted than starting offensive linemen. It’s not crazy to say.

The interior of the line features three guys in Zak Zinter, Drake Nugent, and Trevor Keegan who could all be early-round draft picks come April. The three are All-American candidates and are the best of the best. Expect Michigan to continue pounding the ball up the middle behind those three.

There really isn’t too much to say about this group. It’s a top-two offensive line in the country and should be able to dominate most opponents. Its depth should alleviate any injury concerns, as the Wolverines’ backups would be starters for 90+% of teams in America.

It should be yet another year of dominance by the Michigan offensive line.
