It’s not a wing or a guard

Michigan has been trying to add a high-volume scorer at guard or on the wing since Caleb Love’s transfer broke down due to the admissions process.

The Wolverines never really replaced Love. There are some other quality pieces and this season will be about winning in a different way, which isn’t a bad thing.

Unlike the past two seasons, defense will need to be a calling card for this Michigan basketball team, which is going to be short on reliable 3-point shooting once again.

Terrance Williams and others will need to provide some internal improvements. Nimari Burnett is also a former five-star who hasn’t come close to reaching his potential on offense just yet.

Still, Aaliya isn’t going to do anything to address the Wolverines’ lack of perimeter shooting. But he can certainly add another solid defender to a team with quite a few already.
