The D-line is elite
Michigan’s offensive line is expected to compete for another Joe Moore Award this season, but the Wolverines’ defensive line might be the better group.
It’s way too early to say and both groups are going to be outstanding. Jim Harbaugh did tell the Big Ten Network that the defensive line got the better of the offensive line in the latest practice.

Chris Balas of The Wolverine reported the same thing happened in a recent scrimmage. Michigan football is still trying to figure out its starting five on the offensive line, so that’s one thing.
But this defensive line is insanely deep. Kris Jenkins made the “freaks” list from Bruce Feldman and feels like a future first-round pick. Jesse Minter has talked about how he was obsessed with being an elite pass rusher.
Additionally, Mason Graham, like McCarthy, has taken a big leap. Kenneth Grant and Rayshaun Benny are also set to make major impacts this season. The pass rush should be improved too.
