Michigan football hasn’t wasted any time expanding the cornerback board and is focusing on other targets after missing out on Aaron Scott.

It became clear when Aaron Scott chose Ohio State that Michigan football was going to have to rethink its cornerback board for the 2024 recruiting class.

Bryce West and Scott were the top targets. The Ohio four-star prospects were Michigan football’s top priorities and while Steve Clinkscale really did all he could to steal them away from the Buckeye State, it was always going to be an uphill battle.

The Wolverines have made major progress in the state of Ohio in recent cycles, particularly in 2024 with the additions of Jordan Marshall, Luke Hamilton, and others.

Yet, Michigan football still isn’t recruiting Ohio the way it did when it landed the likes of Charles Woodson, Desmond Howard, or Jake Butt — just to name a few.

But in the world of recruiting, there’s no point in crying about spilled milk.

Wolverines trending for a 2024 cornerback

Michigan football still needs cornerbacks in the 2024 class and the Wolverines have emerged as the favorite to land a three-star from the state of Kentucky.

Jeremiah Lowe is from Lexington, Kentucky, and was offered by Michigan football last June. Lowe is 5-foot-11, 170 pounds, and ranked 1,085 overall in the 247 Sports composite rankings for 2024.

Kentucky, Missouri, Boston College, and West Virginia are the top programs that have offered Lowe outside of Michigan football.  The Wolverines have hosted him for three visits total, including one back in March. Louisville was the only other visit taken this spring via On3.com.

Steve Wiltfong of 247 Sports has put in a crystal ball projection in favor of the Wolverines. EJ Holland and Zach Libby of The Wolverine have also put in expert projections, which now has the On3.com prediction machine sitting at 99 percent in favor of the Wolverines.

Lowe told Holland that he would like to make a decision in the next month and that Michigan has been communicating with him more recently.

So in terms of the first cornerback commitment of the 2024 class, it very well could be Jeremiah Lowe out of Kentucky.
