Michigan football is still hoping to add an offensive tackle to its 2024 class and Bennett Warren will be announcing his commitment next week.

Michigan football fans already had an important decision coming up on July 30th as Bryce Scott is expected to announce his commitment.

But now, the Wolverines will have another announcement to follow as Bennett Warren, another top target for Michigan football in the 2024 class, has announced a commitment date of July 31st.

At 6-foot-8, 330 pounds, Warren is a beast of a man. He’s out of Sugar Land, Texas, and is ranked by the 247 Sports composite rankings as the No. 8 offensive tackle, as well as the No. 143 prospect overall.

Michigan football hosted Warren for an official visit on June 9th. However, he took his final visit to Tennessee on June 23rd. Texas A&M and Oklahoma also hosted Warren for visits meaning there are some heavy hitters battling the Wolverines for this one.

So where does Michigan football stand?

Michigan football does have the most recent crystal ball projection which came from Steve Wiltfong the top expert from 247 Sports. Texas A&M also has a crystal ball projection with a low confidence level but that was earlier this spring.

If you look at the On3 recruiting prediction machine, Michigan football is the favorite but there aren’t any expert projections right now, which tells you that this recruitment is hard to read.

Tennessee got the last visit and seems to be on the rise. It will be interesting to see Warren winds up taking an unofficial visit anywhere this weekend. That would certainly give us an idea about what he’s thinking.

I haven’t heard anything about Warren possibly making it to Ann Arbor for the recruiting BBQ. But things can change quickly in recruiting. However, this is a hard recruitment to read and it doesn’t seem like anybody is confident right now about where Warren is headed.

Next. Assembling the all-time Lloyd Carr team. dark

Watch the crystal balls over the next few days as some movement should come eventually, hopefully in the favor of Michigan football.
