Blake Corum says Michigan Football ‘Will play for Jim Harbaugh’
Some Michigan football fans have said that the Jim Harbaugh suspension will serve as motivation for the Wolverines and Blake Corum confirmed it.
We are still working our way through all the things said by Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh, as well as the three players representing the Michigan Wolverines.
However, Blake Corum, in one of his breakout sessions, sent a strong message about how the Michigan football team feels about its head coach.
“We are going to play for him,” Corum said. “I’m going to rally my troops. Get them going.”
That’s certainly music to the ears of every Michigan football, as was the comment from Corum that he’s been cleared for contact in regards to fall camp and is “good to go.”
Michigan football will be motivated by NCAA BS
We’ll see how long it takes for Michigan football, Harbaugh, and the NCAA to sort all of this out. It’s possible that the negotiations aren’t done.
There have been reports about Harbaugh accepting a four-game suspension. However, Harbaugh said that Michigan football did nothing to be ashamed of. That was his indication that the Wolverines did nothing wrong and they didn’t — outside of minor infractions.
Regardless of whether the suspension is justified, it sounds like Michigan football is going to be very motivated to have the back of their head coach.
So maybe that will be one way that the Wolverines can turn this negative into a positive. It can bring this team together and keep it from being complacent.
I don’t think that the leadership will allow this team to look ahead. However, it’s hard not to think back to the 2007 season when Michigan football seemed to have all the talent of a national title contender but got upset by App State and had a season ruined by injuries.
Corum’s words make me think of the Patriots when Spygate happened. The team used it as motivation and maybe Michigan football can channel that energy this season.
