Michigan basketball has never beaten the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders

  • Overall series record: 0-1
  • First matchup: December 29, 1986
  • Last matchup: December 29, 1986
  • Last Score: Middle Tennessee 85, Michigan 83

The lone matchup against Middle Tennessee came way back at the tail end of 1986, back when the Wolverines were in decent shape as a program. Bill Freider’s team would win 20 games and have a decent run in the Big Ten, but were disappointed in their final game of the calendar year.

They faced the Blue Raiders in Birmingham, AL as part of the UAB classic and fell in an exciting 85-83 affair. Middle Tennessee would win the OVC and make the NCAA Tournament later that year, but it was still a surprising result for the Wolverines, who were 6-2 to that point in the season.
