Michigan basketball has never beaten the Georgetown Hoyas

  • Overall series record: 0-2
  • First matchup: December 30, 2006
  • Last matchup: November 15, 2007
  • Last Score: Georgetown 74, Michigan 52

Both Georgetown and Michigan won their lone national title in the 1980s, but these two programs would not face off for two more decades, with the Hoyas holding the upper hand so far.

The first game in this series came in late 2006, with the Hoyas coming to Ann Arbor and leaving town with a 67-51 victory, getting a 14-point effort from Roy Hibbert during what would become a Final Four season.

The return game came the following year, with the program now in the hands of John Beilein. Their Nov. 15 matchup at Georgetown wasn’t any better, as the fifth-ranked Hoyas delivered in a 22-point win. The Hoyas shot the ball well, while Kelvin Grady led all scorers with 16 points for the Wolverines.
