Michigan basketball has never beaten the St. Bonaventure Bonnies

  • Overall series record: 0-1
  • First matchup: November 23, 2002
  • Last matchup: November 23, 2002
  • Last Score: St. Bonaventure 89, Michigan 68

Michigan opened Tommy Amaker’s second season with a trip to the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands and it didn’t go well. The Wolverines lost all three games, including the season opener to St. Bonaventure, a program they’ve played just once in their history.

Due to scandal in the Bonnies program, St. Bonaventure would later vacate this win, but it was still a tough season-opening loss for the Wolverines. They’d lost by 21 points to a Bonnies team that finished in the middle of the pack in the A-10, the first of six straight losses to begin that season.

Things would get better for the Wolverines in the near future, but that performance against the Bonnies was pretty rough to start the season.
