Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards
This unit is extremely deep beyond these two Doak Walker award favorites. With the way Michigan football runs the ball, it’s easy to see why they are both legit contenders to be Michigan’s first Heisman trophy winner since 1997.
Both have the capability to rush for over 1,000 yards or more in 2023. The percentage of at least one of them making it to New York for the ceremony in December is high.
Corum said earlier in the week that he will be ready to go by September. How much will the offensive staff utilize him before the Big Ten schedule opens up though? We could very well see a lot of C.J. Stokes, Ben Hall, and Cole Cabana to get them some experience for the future. Corum’s rest is important, but he’s also too valuable to keep on the sidelines for long.
Michigan has the best running back room in college football.

Yes, of course, I wanted to pick Penn State with Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton.
But the talent in Ann Arbor is undeniable.
Blake Corum will be a serious Heisman candidate in 2023.

Donovan Edwards will attempt to stay hot and do what he did in the three final games of 2022. His presence in the passing game should be more involved because he is one of, if not the most talented receivers on this Michigan football team.
